The American Army will continue supporting displaced Jews in its zone of Austria, Col. S. Long, a representative of the Army’s DP section, told delegates from all Jewish DP camps in the U.S. zone of Austria, at a two-day conference held here under the auspices of the Central Committee of Liberated Jews.

Judge Louis E. Levinthal, recently-appointed advisor on Jewish affairs to the U.S. Army in Europe, delivered a message of cheer on behalf of American Jewry. Other speakers included Nachum Levin, representing the Jewish National Council of Palestine; Dr. Jehuda Gaulan, for the Jewish Agency; and a Chaplain Lifshitz of the U.S. Army headquarters in Austria. Members of the new central committee were elected.
