Agency Renews Pleas in London over Plight of Exodus Immigrants

The London office of the Jewish Agency today renewed ? representations to the Colonial Office to send the Exodus immigrants back to Palestine from Port de Bouc, France, a statement issued by the Agency revealed.

The statement also described the difficult conditions under which the 4,400 ## must live on the three crowded prison ships and gave an account of their clashes ?h troops guarding them. The Agency said that the 24-hour hunger strike which was ?gun today by the visaless Jews was in protest against their continued detention and ## “an effort to draw the attention of the public, particularly the British, to their ?ight.”

Pope Pius XII will study the Palestine problem during his stay at the Pontifical ?mer palace at Castelgandolfo, Italy, Reuters reported today from the Vatican City. Recording to the report, Vatican circles attach considerable significance to the Palestine problem, particularly in the light of recently established diplomatic relations with various Arab states.
