Six outstanding American leaders have accepted posts as vice-chairmen of the National Christian Committee for the $170,000,000 nationwide United Jewish Appeal campaign for the relief, rehabilitation and resettlement of Europe’s 1,500,000 Jewish survivors, it was announced by Thomas J. Watson, chairman of the National Christian Committee.
The distinguished Americans who will help mobilize Christian support behind the United Jewish Appeal are Eric Johnston, president of the Motion Picture Association of America; Emil Schram, president of the New York Stock Exchange; Tom K. Smith, chairman of the Boatmen’s National Bank of St. Louis; Robert G. Sproul, president of the University of California; J.P. Stevens, Jr., president of J.P. Stevens & to, and Charles P. Taft, president of the Federal Council of Churches of Christ in America.
