The work of the voluntary agencies which have been cooperating with the International Refugee Organization in caring for displaced persons was lauded today at the meeting here of the IRO Preparatory Commission by ##yer Cohen, assistant secretary of the organization.
He said that the IRO will devote considerable attention to coordinating the work of the voluntary agencies with its own. Representatives of the JDC, the Jewish Agency and ORT are here as observers. The commission today discussed means of bringing the daily ration of the DP’s in all parts of Europe to a minimum of 2,015 calories.
