The Board of Deputies of British Jews at a meeting today unanimously adopted a resolution welcoming “in common with the Jews of Palestine and the whole world the historic decision of the United Nations in favor ? the establishment of a Jewish state in the Holy Land in fulfiliment of the age? yearning of the Jewish people.”

Pointing out that it was Britain which issued the Balfour Declaration and ?ped in the development of the Jewish National Home, the resolution hoped” that ?his fulfillment of Jewish hopes would be accompanied by strengthening of ties between the British and Jewish peoples.” The board also adopted a report of its Palestine committee referring to the deteriorating situation in Palestine, opposing ?e continued use of the Arab Legion in Palestine and stressing the urgent need for ?creased immigration in accordance with the wishes expressed in the U.N. partition ?solution.
