Jewish Agency Asks U.N. Action Against Aggression of Countries Neighboring on Palestine

The Jewish Agency today filed with the United Nations formal charges of aggression against Arab states neighboring on Palestine, ?ed submitted documented data in substantiation of the charges.

The Agency memorandum appeals for action by the Security Council, under Chapter VII of the U. N. Charter, against the plot of the member States of the Arab league to forcibly obstruct the U.N. decision to partition Palestine. The document will be included in a report on the Palestine security situation which the five-nation Palestine Commission began to draft today for submission to the Security Council within a fortnight.

The Jewish Agency memorandum cites a number of facts with it terms as a total assault” by the Arab League members upon the principles the following: 1. The countries affiliated with the Arab League are officially sponsoring a campaign of threats, incitement and propaganda in violation of the provision of the U.N. Charter. 2. They direct acts of aggression against Jewish settlements, as was the case last month when a number of settlements in Palestine were attacked by Arab invaders from neighboring countries.

SECURITY COUNCIL TO AWAIT SPECIAL REPORT BEFORE ACTING ON PALESTINE

Gen. Andrew G.L. McNaughton, president of the Security Council, today told newsmen that the. Council will not discuss the Palestine Question until it receives the special report on security which the Implementation Commission is drafting. He added that he expects the report to be ready within “a few days.”
