The organization presented Dr. Silver with the 1948 Birth Sholom National Annuals Award for Humanitarianism, in recognition of his activities in behalf of the independence of Israel. In accepting the award, Dr. Silver emphasized that “the tribute is due the Jewish people as a whole for their amazing capacity for rejuvenation and a will and determination unparalleled in all the annals of mankind.”
