A group of 144 Jewish refugees from Shanghai arrived here today aboard the S.S. General Meigs, it was announced by the local office of the United Service for Now Americans. An additional 320 Shanghai Jews are expected to land here on Aug. 11.
(In New York, the Joint Distribution Committee announced that a group of 53 Jewish DP immigrants left Bremen last Friday aboard the S.S. Marine Flasher. Thirty-two of the immigrants are being sponsored by the J.D.C.)
