The Provisional Government of Israel can no longer agree to the partition boundaries established by the United Nations in Palestine, Bernard Gering, chairman of the South African Zionist Federation, who has just returned from a visit to Israel, declared last night in an address at a mass meeting at City Hall here.

The position of the Israeli Government, Gering stated, “changed in battle and it would be unreal to expect Israel to give up its extensive gains,” He paid tribute to the spirit and prowess of the Israeli Army which, he said, “has grown into a formidable force,” M. Kirschner, president of the South African Zionist Federation, who also recently visited Palestine, presided at the meeting, and expressed faith in “Israel’s power to hold its own.”
