A monument honoring the memory of the 7,000 Jews from the town of Targu Mures in Transylvania who were murdered during the war was unveiled in the town’s Jewish cemetery today. Large crowds attended the ceremony. The momment is made of marble tombstones.
Representatives of Jewish organizations and the Rumanian Workers Party addressed the participants in the ceremony. Earlier, Dr. Moses Rosen, Rumanian Chief Rabbi, conducted a religious service for the victims of the war. Representatives of all religious denominations in Rumania attended this service.
