Col. Edwin Archibald, the first United States air attache assigned to Israel, left here yesterday for Israel accompanied by a staff of four. The U.S. official left Washington early last month and toured Europe, including the U.S. some of Germany, before proceeding to Tel Aviv. He was detained on Cyprus for five days when his plane developed engine trouble.
