Israel chooses to remain neutral in the struggle between East and West, Charles 8. Zimmerman, vice-president of the International ladies Garment Workers Union, asserted here at a press conference yesterday, following his return from a 16-day mission to Israel.
“Allegations that Israel is going Communist is definitely propaganda emanating from some source with particularly malicious intentions — propaganda initiated for political reasons,” Zimmerman stated “The newcomers to Israel are not Communists and the Communist Party in Israel is merely a minute minority of some 2,000 Arab and Jewish members, Israel wants no part in the East-West disputes.”
