The Scandinavian delegations to the United Nations were this week-end reported at work on a plan to establish an inter-denominational commission to safeguard the Holy Places in the Jerusalem area and to guarantee members of all faiths access to them.

This plan was seen as an attempt to take the religious issue out of consideration of the Jerusalem problem. It is reported that the planners visualize a U.N. chairman for the commission with its members composed of Moslems, Jews and Christians. It is expected that if demands for the internationalization of the city are turned down by either of the interested parties, acceptance of such a commission for the Holy places might lead to a compromise agreeable to all concerned.
