Israel is asking the International Red Cross, which is meeting here now, to accept the Red Mogen Dovid as another of the official Red Cross emblems, Menahem Kahany, Israeli delegate to the 60-nation parley, revealed today.

In pressing Israel’s suit, Kahany pointed out that the Red Cross already recognizes three emblems–the Red Cross, the Red Crescent and the Lion and Sun of Iran–and that the Israelis should not be asked to sacrifice their emblem. A request for recognition of the Mogen Dovid has already been turned down by the Committee on Prisoners of War, but Kahany believes that the parley will find a compromise. At present the Dutch have submitted a proposal for one overall emblem–a red heart on a white background.
