“Many leading Arabs believe that although they were unable to defeat the Jews in battle, they may still do so by an economic blockade,” the London Daily Telegraph’s correspondent who recently returned here from Israel reported today. The report emphasized the present economic difficulties faced by Israel. Pointing out that in the long run the Jewish state is placing its hopes on financial aid from abroad, particularly from the American Jewish Community, the Telegraph writer declared: “At present, the poor internal situation and the complete disappearance of dramatic appeal engendered by fighting, make it likely that contributions this year from this source will begin to fall off.”
