The board of trustees of the Jewish Welfare Federation here today announced the appointment of Henry L. Zucker as acting executive director of the Federation. He will assume the post officially on Oct. 1. Mr. Zucker succeeds Samuel Goldhamer, who has served as executive director of the past 43 years of the Federation’s 46 years, Mr. Goldhamer was granted a leave of absence last July and has been named honorary trustee for life of the Federation.
