The Paris Municipal Council today voted authorization to the Zionist Federation of France to erect a memorial tablet on the building at 37 Rue Cambon where Theodor Herzl, founder of political Zionism, lived and wrote “Der Judenstaat,” laying down the principles of modern Zionism.

The plaque will be unveiled in September at a ceremony in connection with the Congress of European Zionist Federations to be held here under Jewish Agency auspices.
