All newspapers in South Africa today published highly laudatory articles on Aaron “Okey” Geffin, who, in a top football contest between South Africa and New Zealand, scored all the points rung up by the Union’s team. Geffin is the second Jewish member of the South African team, the other being Cyril Moss. During the war he fought at Tobruk and was a POW in German camps for four years.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
