Eliahu Elath, Israeli Ambassador to the United States returned here last night from a six-week visit to Israel. “I was impressed by the remarkable progress made since I was last home, 11 months ago,” he stated after landing at the airfield here.

“We have been pursuing a policy of coming to an understanding with the Arabs,” he told representatives of the press. He expressed agreement with a statement made a few days ago in Washington by Secretary of State Dean Acheson that “no issue in Palestine is not susceptible of solution by peaceful means.”
