A group of 35 yeshiva students arrived here today from Italy and will establish themselves as a branch of the Yeshiva Meor Hagolah, organized originally in a refuges camp near Rome. Another group of twenty students is expected here with six weeks. A third group will follow later.
Heading the group which arrived today were two prominent religions leaders, Rabbi Isaac Moscowitch and Rabbi Benjamin Borzikovsky who will act as teachers and guides for the rabbinical students. The founder of the Yeshiva, Rabbi Ephraim Ashrai, preceded the group to made preparations for their arrival and accommodations. Their passage was paid by the International Refugee Organization.
In a statement to the press, Rabbi Ashrai declared that the Yesiva in Italy will not be liquidated as long as there are refugees in that country. Many of the students have hone to Israel, others chose to go to countries where the need for rabbis will be felt in the near future.
