A delegation of 30 Arabs from the village of Abu Gosh, located north of Jerusalem, have asked Israeli authorities to grant them a land area for the establishment of a collective settlement, it was reported today.
The villagers, most of whom are sympathetic to the Sternist Party, offered to pay for the land with their own property in Abu Gosh, including their homes and other immovable property. They attributed their desire to set up a Kibbutz to the frequent land disputes which have broken out among Abu Gosh families and which recently resulted in bloody clashes.
