A branch of the “Dante Alighieri Society” to promote Italian culture was founded here today in ceremonies attended by the Italian and other consuls in Jerusalem, as well as by representatives of the government and the Hebrew University.

Mayor Daniel Auster of Jerusalem extended greetings on behalf of the municipality, while the Italian consul lauded the establishment of the new link in the worldwide society. Dr. Emanuel Olsvanger read several chapters of Dante’s “Inferno,” which he recently translated into Hebrew.
