A move to expedite the U.N. Assembly discussion of the Palestine question was initiated today by the President of the General Assembly, Gen. Carlos Romulo of the Philippines.

After consultation with the chairman of the six major committees of the Assembly, it was decided to transfer the Palestine debate from the Political Committee to its auxiliary, the Special Political Committee, because the Political Committee’s agenda is crowded.

The Israeli delegation is perturbed over the move since the Israelis have conducted their consultations with the delegates in the first committee, who are better acquainted with the fine points of the problem.
