The Hungarian authorities have closed down the offices of the ORT here and, as a result, the organization has ceased its activities, it was revealed today. All ORT training courses are being discontinued.
The activities of the Joint Distribution Committee in Hungary continue normally notwithstanding the recent expulsion of Israel Jacobson, J.D.C. director in this country. Food parcels are being distributed in exchange for J.D.C. vouchers by the nationalized food distribution stores under an arrangement made by Mr. Jacobson prior to his expulsion.
