The Israel Government and the Tel Aviv municipality have announced the appointment of a joint inquiry commission to establish the cause of the collapse of an appartment house building in Jaffa ten days ago, in which 19 persons lost their lives.

Meanwhile, Tel Aviv Mayor Israel Rokach has called for the evacuation of some 1,700 persons from 300 buildings in Jaffa which, he said, were unsafe and beyond repair. Otherwise, Mr. Rokach warned, another major disaster may occur.
