War Crimes Court Sentences Ex-nazi to Life Term for Participating in Jewish Pogroms

A war crimes court in Erfurt today sentenced former ?azi district leader Wilhelm Muontze to a life term in prison, loss of all civil ?ights and the confiscation of property, for playing a leading part in the pogroms of November, 1938.

A Frankenthal court today sentenced lbert Shappert to three years at hard labor in prison for setting fire to the Frankenthal synagogue in November, 1938, and For participating in the looting of Jewish homes and business firms. Three co-defenddents received prison terms ranging from nine to 12 months, while seven other defendents were acquitted.
