Appealing for support of the United Jewish Appeal, Vice-President Alben W. Barkley last night told a regional U.J.A. conference here attended by 400 delegates from northern Indiana and southern Michigan that no nation can live by itself while others are enslaved. The attack on democratic freedom, Mr. Barkley said, was “why the U.S. went into Korea.”
