The spirit of the people of Israel is the strongest weapon which the Jewish state possesses in its efforts to cope with present economic difficulties, Dr. Astolfo Tapia, vice-president of the Chilean Parliament, said following his arrival here from Israel which he visited for more than a week as the guest of the government. He emphasized that Jerusalem must remain an integral part of the state of Israel.

With the date for elections in this country to the 23rd World Zionist Congress definitely set for November 12, both the Labor and General Zionist factions here have launched their pre-election campaigns. Eliahu Dobkin, Jewish Agency leader and Mapai spokesman, urged at a public meeting that Argentine Jews demonstrate their solidarity with the present Israel Government by casting a ballot for Mapai delegates to the Congress. Dr. Simon Bergman, speaking to a General Zionist gathering, stated that his party’s viewpoint is the logical continuation of Herzlian Zionism.
