Erich Lueth, head of the official press agency in Hamburg, today called for a German-wide boycott of a new film by Veit Harlan, who was recently asquitted in a Hamburg court of crimes against humanity based on his production of the Nazi propaganda film “Jew Suess.”

In a letter to the editor of the Frankfurt Neue Zeitung, Mr. Lueth pleads that Germany’s “moral reputation” must not be destroyed by “ruthless moneymakers” who permit Harlan to produce more films. Referring to a film just produced by Harlan, the editor urged “every decent German to fight against and boycott this unworthy representative of the German film industry.”
