U.S. Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas declared yesterday that there are two bright spots in the East today–Israel and India, both of which he said are "real democracies." Later in the day, Justice Douglas was honored by Yeshiva University at a Chartor Day dinner in the Astor Hotel. He was presented with the annual Morris Morgenstern Award of the University, for "his outstanding contributions in furthering ##nitarian principles and brilliant espousal of our democratic way of life." The award was conferred by Dr. Samuel Belkin, president of Yeshiva.
