The Israel vessel Meir Dizengoff reached the harbor of St. George, Bermuda, last night after fighting fire in her holds for 18 hours, it was reported here today. The fire was caused by an explosion which occurred when the ship was 160 miles north of Bermuda.

The U.S. Coast Guard cutter Spencer, on duty 300 miles from the spot where the Israel ship sent its first SOS, was ordered to her assistance, but was later re-called when it was learned that tugs, planes and a British frigate were en route from Bermuda. The British vessel escorted the Israel ship into St. George.
