The Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, last night adopted the election law fixing the date of the scheduled general elections as July 30. The Knesset modified the election law to provide that parties failing to receive at least one percent of the total vote cast will not receive representation in the Knesset. The new parliament will retain its present total of 120 seats. A proposal to increase the membership to 151 was defeated.
