U.S. Secretary of Labor Arrives in Israel; Will Study Country’s Need for American Aid

U.S. Secretary of Labor Maurice Tobin arrived here today. He told newsmen that he is visiting Israel in order to get “a better understanding of the country’s problems and needs within the framework of the U.S. Aid program.” He was met at Lydda airport by personnel from the U.S. Embassy and high Israeli officials.

Following a luncheon at Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett’s home, Secretary Tobin was to be received by President Chaim Weizmann, which was to be followed by a reception in his honor given by American Ambassador Monnot Davis.
