The American authorities in Austria will oppose attempts by pro-Nazi elements to amend the third Austrian restitution law, Zachariah Shuster, European director of the American Jewish Committee, said here this week-end after interviewing American officials. Attempts to amend the restitution law are being strenuously opposed by the Jews in Austria.
