President Truman this week end signed legislation extending until December 31, 1951, the deadline for displaced persons to enter the United States as immigrants. The bill, which does not permit any more DP’s to enter than the previous DP Immigration Act, specifies that for a DP to be eligible to enter under the new deadline, his case must have been under consideration by the Displaced Persons Commission before June 30, the previous deadline.
