Anti-jewish Propaganda Marks Boston Municipal Election Campaign

The local municipal election campaign has been marked by a revival of “Christian Front” activities and vicious anti-Semitic propaganda against Lee M. Friedman, a prominent Jewish citizen, who is a candidate for the City Council.

Friedman and his supporters have been called “Jewish shysters” in opposition campaign speeches broadcast from roving sound trucks. A special magazine published for the election campaign calls Friedman an “alien ineligible for a place on the ballot.” The Jewish Community Council of Boston has appealed to churches and civic leaders to repudiate these tactics.
