The alteration of the restitution laws in the French zone of Germany has been completed, bringing them into line with legislation in effect in the American and British zones, it was reported from Bonn today. The basic changes affect heirless property which may now be claimed by organizations and institutions.

Applications for restitution for heirless property by successor organizations must be filed before May, 1952, and must be approved by the French High Commission. Organizations which in the past received reparations funds are also eligible to apply as heirless property successor groups, under the new laws.
