Lack of Foreign Currency Creates Shortage of Israel’s Medicines

The reason for the shortage here of certain pharmaceuticals is that the Treasury has released only half of an allotted $2,000,000 for medical supplies, it was revealed today by authoritative sources. The Ministry of Health, it was stressed, is bending every effort to import only raw materials instead of finished medicaments, except where the manufacture of such products here is impossible.
