A decision to publish the history of the Jews in the United States in connection with the celebration of 300 years of Jewish settlement in this country was adopted here today at the 26th annual conference of the YIVO–Yiddish Scientific Institute–held at Hotel Commodore.

The delegates appealed to the Jewish federations and welfare funds throughout the country to increase their assistance to the YIVO. Another resolution urged the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York to give financial support to the Institute. The conference adopted a resolution of thanks to the Joint Distribution Committee for helping the Institute collect Jewish cultural material in various European countries. A message of greetings was sent by the delegates to the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in connection with the establishment there of a chair of Yiddish language and literature.
