The Israel Cabinet today discussed the procedure to be followed in starting the Israel-German talks on reparations. The Cabinet also took up the question of coordinating its policy on negotiations with Germany with the policy that will be decided upon by the presidium of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

(In Bonn, a West German Government spokesman told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency today he felt sure German-Israeli negotiations on Israel’s reparations claims against Germany would open soon. He added that neither the time nor place for such talks had been fixed.)

At a press conference today Ehud Avriel, director-general of the Premier’s Office, categorically denied that Israel had ever purchased from Germany irrigation pipe or any other commodities.
