Jewish Publication Society Distributed 80,000 Books in 1951

The Jewish Publication Society distributed during 1951 about 80,000 books dealing with biography, religion, fiction, American Jewish history and juvenile literature, it was reported at the 64th annual meeting of the Society here this week.

Judge Louis E. Levinthal, president, revealed in his report that the Bible continues to be the Society’s most popular publication, with the 23,319 copies distributed last year, representing an increase of 6,453 over the preceding year. Scholars and community leaders from various parts of the country attended the meeting at which Judge Levinthal was re-elected president for a new term.
