The Syrian Government today delivered a note to the United Nations protesting against the transfer of the Israel Government Foreign Office to Jerusalem.

The note says that two-and-a-half years ago “the Israelite authorities in Palestine” moved some of their ministeries to Jerusalem and continued this action despite condemnation by the U.N. Security Council.

“Lately,” the note adds, “said authorities have started to transfer to Jerusalem the offices of their Ministry of Foreign Affairs and are now pressing governments represented at Tel Aviv for removal of their ministeries and their establishment in the international area of Jerusalem.”

The note claims that this action is a violation of several resolutions of the U.N. General Assembly and of the Security Council, and proceeds to list these resolutions. It declares that the Syrian Government reserves the right to take further action, and asks for circularization of this protest to all member states of the United Nations.
