The United Israel Campaign here has launched an emergency month-long drive to obtain immediate funds for Israel in view of the “serious political, economic and military situation” in the new state. A statement released by the DALA- central Argentine Jewish body-called on all groups and individuals to cooperate fully with the emergency effort.
A national convention of Argentina’s Jewish communities opened here this weekend. Dr. Moises Goldmann, president of the Buenos Aires community, told the meeting that there was need for advancing the educational, religious and pro-Israel activities of the Jewish communities of this country.
