President Truman today accepted an invitation to lay the cornerstone for the new temple of the Washington Hebrew Congregation, a Reform group, which is now celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Mr. Truman told a delegation of Washingtonians who called at the White House today that he would be happy to participate in the ceremony scheduled for sometime in November. Rabbi Norman Gerstenfeld said the temple’s original cornerstone was laid by President McKinley and that Vice-President Adlai Stevenson, grandfather of the Democratic Presidential nominee, attended a ceremony at the temple.
