Chief Rabbi of Lebanon Reported Murdered at His Home in Beirut

A report from Beirut published here today said that Rabbi Lichtman, chief rabbi of Lebanon, was found murdered in his home last week. According to the Beirut police, the crime had no political significance. About 6,000 Jews, most of them of Sephardic origin, live in Lebanon.
