Israel’s economic and financial missions in the United States will be centralized and placed under supervision of a diplomat of ministerial rank, according to a decision reached by the Cabinet last night.

Reorganization of Israeli economic activities in the United States was among the proposals made by Zeev Sharef, secretary-general of the government, to improve the efficiency of the Foreign Ministry. The new measures, it is understood, will affect the supply mission and the economic advisor in New York, the economic department in Washington and New York and the tourist center.
