An exhibit of the paintings of Max Band, noted for his color and for his interpretations of Biblical and Jewish subjects, was opened here at the Jewish Museum, and will be on view through December.
The 30 canvasses have been selected to represent all phases of the artist’s work. The subjects include: “And They Shall Beat Their Swords into Ploughshares,” and “Am I My Brothers’ Keeper”; portrait-like studies of Job, Isaiah, and paintings from Israel.
