The United Hebrew Trades, representing a half-million Jewish workers in the trade union movement in this country, this weekend called for the enactment of a new immigration law which would not be based on the “discriminatory concept of superior and inferior nationalities.”
The 250 delegates at the UHT’s 65th annual convention also adopted resolutions urging the passage of state and Federal FEPC legislation, and end to discrimination and segregation in the nation’s capital, and elimination of Senate rules which permit filibusters.
