The Hadassah today announced that it had acquired five brownstone buildings in midtowns Manhattan in preparation for the construction of a modern air-conditioned building which will serve as the permanent national headquarters of the 300,000-member women’s Zionist organization. The cost of construction of the new building is estimated at $500,000; the purchase price of the five buildings it will replace was $350,000.
