The Arab League Political Committee, meeting in Beirut, today instructed Jordan to reject Israel’s bid for direct talks between the two countries.
The meeting was called after the United Nations had notified Jordan of Israel’s invocation of Article XII of the Armistice Agreement calling for compulsory direct negotiations between Israel and Jordan.
